Branches from Diane's Main Line

With the help of other Croasdell descendants we have built up pictures of many other family branches. For some of these we have sufficient information to create sets of web pages showing histories to the present day. We hope to be able to expand these over time.

If present day descendants of any of the people mentioned in these potted histories, but not so far involved with this web site, would like to know more or can contribute further information, we should love to hear from you. There is an e-mail link at the end of each section

BRANCH LINE A - DESCENDANTS OF WILLIAM (1788 - 1849) AND ISABELLA CROASDELL

Information on the present day and recent descendants of this branch of the family has been kindly provided by Joan Bird (nee Croasdell) and Deborah Croasdell Trunfio, daughters of Herbert Croasdell and Elizabeth McBride - who also helped to enrich the family tree a few years ago by sending personal details. Joan and Debbie have made available the scanned copies of the family photos used to illustrate more recent events.

BRANCH LINE B - DESCENDANTS OF JOHN (1758 - 1804) AND ELLEN CROASDELL

Information and some splendid photographs of recent generations of this branch have been very helpfully provided by David and Ian Croasdell and more recently by their uncle Mike. Their phone calls and conversations with other members of their family have added more detail and nostalgic reminiscences - some of which have been included to help bring the bare bones of our family history to life.

BRANCH LINE C - DESCENDANTS OF RICHARD (1725 - 1804) AND MARGARET CROASDELL

This branch has been recorded and introduced in to the web site to commemorate the recent discovery (early 2003) of present day descendants in America and Canada. It's hoped that this new link will lead to further sharing of information and histories to help strengthen the ties and expand family knowledge.

Branchline C includes the Simpson Croasdell line which is linked to a mysterious name change and to stories of missing fortunes - as set out in more than one of the Myths and Legends. There may well be other present day descendants of this branch and if you are one of them I'd love to hear from you.

BRANCH LINE D - DESCENDANTS OF ISAAC (1794 - 1844) AND MARY CROASDELL

This branchline is one in which 19th century descendants deliberately chose to change the surname spelling to CROASDALE. There are several theories about the reason for this but no one really knows why (Unless you can solve the mystery!)

Information and some splendid photos and illustrations have been provided by several present day descendants - especially Janet Vickers, Margaret Hellier, Anne (& Harold) Ogden and Tom Park. There are more photos to come, I've been promised, so watch this space!

I'd love to hear from any other descendants of this branch who've not yet been in touch.
